My classroom consists of 33 energetic 3rd graders. My students want nothing more than to succeed academically. However, they don't have the proper tools. It is extremely difficult to teach effectively with the limited resources we have in the classroom and at my school, at this time. Due to many of their socio-economic status, they aren't able to obtain these resources at home either. So I want to be able to provide life-changing experiences in my classroom. We love our school and all that they try to provide for us but we will be able to soar if we had technology in the classroom, especially for small group, struggling students. I took a survey in my classroom, asking my students, especially my students having challenges in reading, what materials/tools would help them learn better and become more engaged in learning. Every student selected computers. This alone is the reason I am working so diligently to obtain laptops to support my students.
