There is nothing in the world like seeing our students make progress on their goals. For some that means, learning basic academic skills, like numbers and letters. For others, that means learning to stay in their seat and follow directions. The best part is when you can see the joy and pride in their eyes once they have a done a great job. If you've never worked with individuals with Autism, it can be hard to explain the challenges, but the challenges are greatly outweighed by the reward of seeing the littlest improvements in their daily life skills. Skills and social norms that most people take for granted, can be extremely difficult for our students. For example, being able to partake in a ritual greeting can be very difficult, but when they learn how to do it, they are so proud of themselves and are so eager to practice with anyone who will listen!
