Scholars in the band program at our school are eager to learn and perform music. Their love for music is evident in the classroom and they show their dedication by bringing their instruments home daily to practice. Scholars at our school come from rough, impoverished home environments. Over 95% of Scholars at our school receive free or reduced lunch, little scholars come to school with pencils, paper and a binder, and many are hungry for something more. Music is something they enjoy, something that allows them to forget all the hardships they have at home. Our middle school is a family and provides a safe and loving environment to these kids that come with burdens of their home life.
