This project is all about fun and learning! The books I selected for this project are the perfect addition to our classroom library. Students love graphic novels as well as Non-fiction books about animals and people from the past. It's amazing to see your students get so excited about learning new concepts and sharing those facts with others. I love seeing their faces light up and run up to me and share something new they learned while reading. The butterfly kits I selected for this project offer so much excitement and learning opportunities that students will help "convince" the butterflies that they can fly, "I Believe I Can Fly." Butterflies form chrysalides and transform into colorful butterflies right before the students' eyes. It comes with a complete habitat, which students will experience a full life cycle using the pre-mixed or powdered food options. All complete culture kits include a pop-up mesh pavilion, larvae, setup instructions, and enough media to take them from caterpillar to butterfly. Students can journal and predict along the butterfly journey. It is well-known that COVID-19 has impacted every area in our lives, including education. Students are looking for consistency (my classroom), happiness (reading books letting them escape to a new place) and learning (the butterfly kits and Reading books.) The students will be able to use these items to better their education journey and keep the excitement of learning alive!
