My project is based around creating a sense of community and culture for the baseball program at our school. High School athletics are a very important aspect of school climate and culture. High School athletics offer create a sense of pride in the community. Currently Student athletes currently have to pay for their practice uniforms out of pocket. The cost of sports per student athlete is burdensome for some families. Athletics is an important part of high school climate and culture, and participation of low income students has been in steady decline due to rising costs and social stratification. After buying equipment, practice gear and pay-to-play, students are spending upwards of 300 dollars to participate in school sports. This project will help relieve some of the costs for the students.
