The best way to create a lifelong love of reading is to start young and to physically give a child a book. I am looking to get my kids excited about books and reading; to ASK to go to the library. The only way I started loving reading was through a book in my hands, and I want that for my students.
Third grade is a crucial year for reading, and whether my students will end up loving or hating books. My goal this year is to make every one of my students a reader no matter what their reading level. We will be reading a combination of different chapter books throughout the year. I plan to foster their love of learning through book studies where the students will take their learning outside of the typical weekly reading tests from the cookie cutter curriculum and instead enhance their experience through chapter books with stories that will stay with them for a lifetime.
I want to be able to provide books for my students that cannot afford to buy the books off of my reading list for the year. This project, and your donation can make that possible. All students should be able to have the same experience and ownership of their reading. Thank you for all of your support and love!
