Ours is an inner city, Title I, public school. Many of our students come from low income homes. However, being short on funds doesn't mean being short on intelligence or talent! The choir and Lion King Jr. cast consists of over 30 students that really love to sing, dance and act and they are good at doing it. They are mostly students in grades 2-5 that volunteer their extra time to do what makes them happy. We have been working since February 2016 to make this a memorable experience for every child and we are so excited! We cant wait to see the fruits of our labor. We are also a part of the National program Turnaround Arts this year, so there is a big push to enrich students with more of the arts in hopes that it will boost school attendance, math and reading scores and parental and community involvement.
