My students are in an urban middle school where the resources that would generally be provided by parents are not available. They are all currently enrolled in a STEM enrichment course building their knowledge in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics as well as how they are applied in the real-world. They are all interested in why the information they are learning is important and project based learning, but they don't always have the best resources available to them. I want my students to feel like they matter and their education is important. I have found that teaching them through project based learning supports them more far beyond the classroom than a text book or standardized testing. I want my students to learn to persevere through problems and work collaboratively with a group since this is something that a test will never teach them.
