In first grade, students come to school excited to learn. They are naturally curious and energetic. My class of 18 students enjoy being active by dancing, running, jumping... really anything! My goal as a teacher is to help my students reach their full potential. This means I know that not all students learn best by sitting in a hard plastic chair all day. Right now, I allow students to work on the floor or stand at their tables. Unfortunately the only seats we have are those hard plastic chairs. First graders would benefit from a variety of seating options that they get to choose. This will help them learn who they are as students, and help their core strength and attentiveness.
