This year the volleyball program will be focusing on expanding opportunities to girls in grades 5th-8th by teaching them sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork, and fitness in the sport. We will utilize the sport squad blocker to help practice and strengthen our students skills on blocks. In addition, we will use the Tandem Sport Set Rite to help our students strengthen their sets during game play. We will use the training ladder for agility training for quick response to actions in the game. Currently, we do not have a ball cart so it would be beneficial to have one for the mobility of practice. Lastly, the clipboards will allow myself and my assistant plan plays/strategies during practice and games. All these items will best support the students in their level of rigor in the sport we will utilize the equipment to help students condition, and excel in the fundamentals of the sport. Most of our players in our program have seldom, rarely, or never played volleyball. In recent years, students have only had 3 weeks to perfect their skills prior to their first game. But by expanding our program through your donations will allow our students to have a Volleyball summer clinic (all summer long) ...free of charge. This will allow students to learn the sport early on, and will provide the community to take part in supporting their students in and out of school. In recent years, I have noticed that when student's participate in sport programs their school lives improve as they learn responsibility, accountability (i.e. grades, citizenship), and sportsmanship/respect to themselves and others. We hope that by us expanding the program we will be able to increase our school's climate for future generations to come!
