I work at an incredibly diverse school in North Oakland. I am lucky enough to teach ELA to 160 6th graders from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Many of their families are struggling to make ends meet. For many of my students, school is the only stable, safe space in their lives. My students have various needs including social/emotional, learning and language needs. I love working with my students and getting to know the special skills and knowledge that they all bring to our classroom community.

About my class
