My high school is in an urban setting. We have a very diverse student body in both ethnicity and economic class. A large percentage of our students qualify for free/reduced lunch. Many of my lower level students fall in that category. They often come to school unprepared- and usually have sad stories as to why they don't have a pencil or a ruler.
