These Legos sets are going to be used in the first couple of weeks to help students learn to work in groups, to follow directions and incorporate STEM activities into the introduction of Growth Mindset. Growth mindset is a focus of our school, as teachers we focus on effort instead of how smart a student appears to be. These Legos will help students learn to struggle a bit, but give them a chance to achieve after a struggle. Showing effort pays off. Not only do students get a chance to struggle and succeed, they will also have a chance to work in groups and learn problem solving with their group members. These Legos will also be used throughout the year as a way to revisit our shared vision in our class and to show we can improve on our last inventions or buildings.
