This project will give my students an opportunity to conference with each other, work in small groups, and be mobile during collaborative or independent work time. I want my students to feel comfortable while having furniture that is functional. My goal is for students to feel at home and take learning into their own hands. My students sit in desks all day. Their only guaranteed break is lunchtime. Sadly, my school does not have resources for flexible classroom seating. The desks we use have the chair attached and makes collaborating difficult. These stations will hopefully give my students a unique opportunity to move around and practice their skills in a variety of ways including socially, behaviorally, and linguistically. My students all have very diverse backgrounds including Setting III needs, ESL, low-income, among others. I want to give my students every opportunity to shine and feel like they can express their ideas in a welcoming environment. It's time to move and get creative!
