My second grade classroom is filled with students who are curious and eager to learn! As a low-income school, and serving a very high population of students for whom English is a second language, my students face many challenges both inside and outside of the classroom. The students are 19 stupendous second graders, 100% of whom receive free lunch, and most of whom speak a second language at home. At our elementary school, our goal and passion is to see all our students prepared for high school, college, and their dreams for their future by providing rigorous academics and a safe and caring learning environment. As a result, our students are motivated in spite of their challenges. They enjoy learning and work hard. We are so proud of our students, and desire to equip them with all the tools we can for their academic and interpersonal success.
