My students are an inspiration to me. They are a mixture of amazing personalities and unlimited potential. Our classroom is a student run classroom, and what I mean by that, is that I have trained the kids to run every aspect of the room. They are the computer experts, the line leaders, they are peer coaches, they are tutors, and so much more. These empowered students are excited to come to school and in fact, are sad when there's a long vacation. We are a cooperative learning environment and in many ways, a large family. We are a fairly small school in a low socio-economic area where 90% of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch. My students have lofty goals and I challenge them through collaborative activities as well as through rigorous individual projects. When we speak of the future, their focus is high. When we discuss goals, they are creative and imaginative. They are our future business leaders, app designers, engineers, chefs, coders, authors, lawyers, and more.
