My students come to me with a clean plate, well not so clean....usually I have to be a mother, counselor, police officer, restaurant, Walmart, THEN..... I CAN BE A TEACHER. My students are always, ALWAYS hungry, you cannot teach a child when all they think about is food and when lunch time is. You cannot teach a child when they do not have a pencil, markers or a folder like "all the other kids who have money" I treat my students like my children and like they are my own. My students need to feel like others kids that they see on TV. I would love to have laptops and tablets for my students, but right now, THIS list is the most important. FOOD is the most important!! These students are our future leaders of the world. We need to start NOW!! I teach all subjects for 6th grade Special Education
