My students are some of the most inspiring people I have ever met. Every day my students push me to look beyond the norm and question what we take for granted. The gift of sight, vocalization, touch, smell, taste, and a breath of fresh air are oh so wonderful! It's the simple things that my students have taught me an appreciation for. But, honestly it's my students that I am appreciative for! We smile, laugh, and dance throughout the school day. I feel accomplished when my students go home from a day of fun filled learning and education. All students in my classroom have severe and profound disabilities and are from a lower socioeconomic area. The students are some of the most deserving population I have encountered, and yet some of the most overlooked. School is, sometimes, all that these students have. Anything we can do to improve and build on their experience while in school would be amazing!
