My classroom has 24 first graders. We are a Title 1 school and most of my students receive free or reduced lunch. We have around 500 students, grades Kindergarten - 6th grade. Most families struggle to find time or have the resources at home to provide extra support ~ So I must reach all my students within the school day and provide them with a variety of materials and books. First graders are very active learners so I build my classroom around an active learning environment.
