The majority of our student population uses access to free or reduced lunch (65%). We are located in an urban area and many students have little or no access to Internet at home. Our school also has a large immigrant population and we offer special support for ESL students to increase their fluency in listening, speaking and writing in English, while learning science content and skill as well. Despite these challenges our diversity creates a great environment for kids to become tolerant to ethnic and social-economic differences, and when you come in the building there is a sense a affection amongst our community, students and staff.
