I teach a diverse group of 6th graders in California who come from a wide range of socioeconomic, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds with about 43% English learners. My classes love to read, write and learn about social studies and how to become contributing citizens. My students are fascinated by reading about and forming a better understanding of current events both national and global, but the school library does not offer any resources to meet their needs, hence I would love to offer them a copy of Scholastic News bi-monthly so that we can read, write and discuss current issues as they arise. Please help support this diverse group of future voters!
