My students have disabilities such as autism and cerebral palsy. Most of my students are able to perform tasks between 1 and 3 years younger than their chronological age. They largely come from low-income homes and are facing many difficulties learning basic tasks that other young children are able to complete with ease. My students are both pre-k and kindergartners. Though they are asked to face many challenges at a young age, they come to school with a smile each day and demonstrate a love for learning that is exciting to watch. My students come to my classroom each day with the desire to have fun and work hard. Together we push ourselves further than the previous day and clap and jump with joy when one of us accomplishes a new task.
