Ready or not technology is the technique of learning. I am requesting iPads that they would use in a work center during guided reading time with a variety of free resources. Educational activities included reading and math to review basic math facts. Reading apps. would improve students, reading fluency, expose them to vocabulary, phonics and reading comprehension. Some of the apps are Lexia, Razkids and Illumination. My students who are challenged, may also listen to the students. The excitement of hearing themselves speak and watch the words flow on the screen, or to write their own story paired with ready made pictures where they learn the mechanics of writing their own books and then given the opportunity to listen to the stories they have written are titillating evens that can only be accomplished with technology. Our resources can be downloaded quickly for the students to view in class and to get an answer to their questions in a more efficient way. It Takes A Village to Raise A Kid.
