I am a special education teacher and my classroom serves students of all types and stripes. I have a number of students who are in my classroom, the only classroom they have been in for years, and they are looking at transitioning from a secure environment and classroom into independence. Our classroom is in a tough environment where safety and security is a real issue. There are some fantastic students here who cross the spectrum from moderate to severe special needs to gifted and talented students who are already pursuing college level academics.
