The best description of my school is " The United Nations." Students come from the local community and extend to the world. The languages heard daily are English, Chinese (Mandarin & Cantonese), Spanish , Vietnamese, Bosnian, Arabic and many other languages and dialects too numerous to name. The school is multi-lingual, multicultural, multiracial, and sensitive to all religions. The dietary needs of the students are also addressed. The English Only students are blended with the English Language Students using effective instructional practices that are inclusive of all students. The students bring with them rich backgrounds and experiences that are accessed for successful teaching. All students are important. There are many professionals that address all the mitigating factors that could impact the learning of the students. Health professionals, counselors, a community coordinator are all a part of the collaborative team with teaching staff that work for the total student success.
