I believe the arts are fundamental to human existence. We use art as a language for communication, self-expression, and speaking our truth, and everyone has their own unique story to tell. I consider myself extremely fortunate because I have found a meaningful and special path in life: I am able to connect my interests as an artist and my passion for social justice through teaching. As artists, the ways that we think and create are powerful and important in developing our understanding of the world and throughout our education and our lives. It is an honor to work in the Visual Arts and Design Program at FADA at Oakland Technical High School, where we continue to develop our language, thinking, and skills in order to share our stories and explore the world around us.

About my class
