We currently have about 40 students enrolled in the band program. Band is open to all students in the 5-8th grade here. We are a Title 1 school, and a lot of students are on the free and reduced lunch program. The kids are very enthusiastic about the band program here at Desert Meadows. We just put on our first concert of the year, and they did a fantastic job! I was so pleased with their progress since the beginning of the year. Each grade level has beginning students this year (even the 8th grade)! They work hard on their music, and are already playing Grade 2 music in the 7th and 8th grade groups.
