Reading to children builds comprehension and further motivates students to read and explore outside of class. Class reading also focuses literacy by sharing a common story and having students recognize their shared connections especially in the hectic COVID environment in schools and home. With library sets of books available, teachers can utilize read aloud and partner reading to promote positive reading experiences for all levels of readers. The books chosen correspond with students interest, teacher requests and align with the core curriculum. Books promote vast possibilities and our children need those possibilities! Badly.
