My students live in a high poverty area and often times they feel as if no one notices them or acknowledges their behavior. My hope is to use positive behavior techniques (incentives like snacks and supplies) to show my students that we care about their future success. My students live in a high poverty neighborhood with a lot of gang violence and aggressive behavior. Many of my students' parents work long hours and they have to fend for themselves. There are 140 plus students at my high school with special needs and all of them deserve to be noticed, recognized and loved for who they are and all their wonderful qualities. My school is in an urban environment in the middle of the city. They need and deserve this type of support.
