My students are an active group who are very excited to come to school each day and learn new things. Our school is a small charter school in one of the state's lowest performing districts. Our students have come from regular district schools to find better educational opportunities and most of them are very far behind. Reading and writing are skills that they struggle with yet with the new standards are required to master at levels they have never had to before. Most of my students are low income students with limited resources and limited technology in their homes. They don't let anything get them down and are even willing to stay after school to get the help they need.
