Our high school has a diverse student population of approximately 3,100 students with over 95% of students being low income. Our school has a 10% Special Education population with needs in the areas of vision impairments, hearing impairments, autism, ADHD, cognitive disability, learning disability and physical disability. My classroom is a cross-categorical, self-contained classroom and consists of 10 students with multiple disabilities. My students have difficulty with reading fluency, comprehension and writing. Some of my students are non-verbal and require alternate ways to differentiate instruction.
