I am requesting a CD/cassette player with headphones and books. I want to use these materials in a listening center. They will have the opportunity to hear sounds of letters, words, rhymes and patterns read by a fluent reader. The CD player and books on CD will help my students become more fluent readers. My students need to have many opportunities to hear lots of rhymes and patterns and vocabulary, since most of them are English Language Learners. By hearing the stories, students will be exposed to lots of new words that they haven't heard before. This station will help students not only hear the stories, but focus in on specific comprehension skills.
