Our school is a K-2 elementary school, with approximately 300 students from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds. We are a small town where everyone knows everyone else, and everyone is like family. Our school is close to a military base, so we have many military families as part of our school as well. The students are eager to learn and amazingly creative. Most love to read, and all of them love to learn! We use our Chromebooks to connect with Google software, where they write using Docs, Drawings where they create, and Maps where they learn about their world. They build with virtual Lego blocks on the Promethean table. They are smart and innovative and so, so wonderful. Some of them have access to technology at home, but many of them do not, and so their only opportunity to learn about things like computer coding or keyboarding is at school. These are the students that have to work extra hard to catch up to their peers. I try to provide diverse experiences for all the students.
