My students are 60 10 year olds that know how to make a classroom feel like a family. Most of them come from low income families where only one parent works long hour shifts to provide for their well being. Some of them only get exposure to technology here at school. Our school is located in a predominantly low income area. We are a Title 1 school in which over 98% of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Many of their parents are not able to help with homework or studying skills because they themselves didn't go to school. Although many of these students come from poor neighborhoods and problems that might affect them, they come each morning with a smile ready to learn. They know that we might not be able to control what is outside of our classroom but when we come inside our class, we believe we are warriors striving for the best.
