Our names are Jessica Mintzer and Shannon Calle. We are kindergarten teachers in the Bronx. The district that we teach in is one of the poorest, and it is heartbreaking to witness the effects of poverty first hand. We've had students who cannot afford simple supplies that we take for granted such as a backpack or pencils. We've also had students arrive hungry because they did not receive a meal for dinner the night before. Despite the hand that they were dealt, our students are brimming with curiosity and an excitement for learning. Any donations received will go directly toward enhancing their school day experience!! :)
