I am requesting headphones for my students to utilize when listening to the district-assigned reading software. In order to maximize learning, students need to be able to hear the phonics sounds clearly and reply correctly. Right now most are using inexpensive earbuds brought in from home and clarity is an issue. Each day the students are required to be on the software for 30 minutes where they are able to move along at their own pace. It is crucial that they are able to distinguish different phonics sounds in order to progress to the next skill. Having quality headphones for each student would allow them to hear the sounds without being distracted by outside noises. The headphones I've requested would allow them to maximize the valuable tools available to them. Improved reading skills are a step toward a brighter future.
