To read well, students must read more. My goal is to create a welcoming, comfortable area where my students can settle in with a good book. The books and rug requested will be used to create a reading area separate and distinct from the rest of the room. The Flocabulary subscription will be incredibly helpful in support of efforts to build vocabulary, which is critical to raising reading levels. I will create a well-stocked classroom library from which students can select print and audiobooks from a variety of genres and then kick back in a relaxed environment to truly enjoy their reading. I spent many hours and dollars this summer scouring thrift stores for books and furniture, but still need a few items to perfect the room. I know that my students will love visiting our in-room library space once it is complete!
