I am a 2nd grade teacher who works with students that go to a school were all receive free and reduced lunch. Part of my role is to encourage student/parent reading at home. We offer literacy nights to help provide parents a foundation of skills and strategies that they can take and help their child. Each family will leave with a book. My students are enthusiastic about reading. We are located in Hartford, CT and are a low-income school. We would love to have these books for students and their families to go home with on literacy night. We have chosen these books because they go with our themes, as well as because they are of high interest.
