My students need a class set of tablets so that they can access online books that they can read or listen to fluent reading with. My students enjoy going on Tumblebooks and Overdrive to listen to reading. They will be able to access online read-alouds and books that I may not have. Today's world is becoming more and more tech savvy, and these tablets would be a perfect fit for our classroom! We will also be able to use websites such as Kahoot! and Quizizz as a different, fun and interactive way to check for understanding. My students are used to plain old paper and pencil assessments. This way will be different and fun for them, while also engaging them in new ways! My students will benefit greatly from the use of tablets in today's time of technology! We currently have a set of netbooks that all of fourth grade shares. Most of them are broken, in need of a new battery, or do not charge. I would love to have my own class set of tablets so that my students have instant access to thousands of different books. Having these tablets will allow my students to hear how fluent reading is supposed to sound. This, in turn, will help them improve their fluency and comprehension. These tablets will be a great resource for my mainstream students, as well as my struggling learners, dyslexic students and ESL learners.
