Students in the small school community share books with each other constantly. At times it can be very difficult to obtain a book that is at a students reading level if there is no more books of that level to check out. Our small school has a limited amount of books in the library for students to check out. We want to make our library more diverse in reading books so that all reading levels are available for all students. As teacher, I want to promote literacy to the best of my ability. With an increase in books in our library, students will have the opportunity to read a book that will help them improve in their reading. Help students explore the different ranges of texts available from different authors. Allowing them to choose books that will inspire them to explore the world through their eyes. With the selection of books, teachers will help students become more coincident in reading. Promote reading by having other students read to each others. It will allow students practice their fluency and reading comprehension through books they will enjoy.
