My students love to learn new things, make new discoveries, and be creative! As 4th graders this is the first time they are departmentalized and have different subject area teachers. Science, Social Studies, and Writing as a class? My students come in everyday eager to know what we are going to learn about, what we will be investigating in our lab, or what we get to express in our writing. Our school is located in a low income area in which most students do not have access to technology and where the phrase "Google it" makes no connection for them. Computer access on our campus is very limited as computers are shared from grades K-6 and when students are on them the time to explore and learn new things come once in a blue moon.
