My students are in middle school, which can be a difficult age for most students. They must balance their academics with so many other factors happening in their lives at an age where they are experiencing a difficult transition from child to young adult. My school is in an urban district, with a high amount of students from low socioeconomic backgrounds. My students come to school and are pushed to be the best versions of themselves in spite of whatever is happening outside of school within their lives.
