My students are exceptional kids! Most of our kids come from hard working, middle class families. We are a high functioning school that has shown incredible growth over the last 3 years. I have found that many of my students lack the monetary resources necessary to participate in organized team activities within our community. As a district we are trying to bridge that gap by minimizing fees associated with camps, clinics and team memberships. In the mean time, I am trying desperately to give my students a sense of belonging to a "team". Our Spring Branch PE gymnasium is a non-threatening environment where all are included and equally encouraged. I want each of my students to leave class equipped with the necessary tools to benefit not only themselves, but also those around them. Teamwork is an essential life long skill, and it is never too early to start teaching its value to our youth.
