My middle and high school photography classes are in between nice Nikon D3500's and 12 year old Olympus cameras that barely function. I am trying to round out the lab and get all of the students using the same cameras, allowing equity across the classroom and giving every student the opportunity to learn at the highest level. Besides photography, the cameras will also be used in my high school video classes to develop narrative videos and documentaries that express their personal cultures. The video class does not have enough videos cameras for each student. Photography and video are large parts of the visual culture at my school. Students develop designs using photography as well as celebrate the school with their images. Also, our school announcements are shot on the cameras so it provides benefit to the entire school population.
