Research has found students learn better through movement and improve task focus. Some examples are; standing desk during work time to allow for movement while working or move n sit cushion on a traditional chair allows the student shift their body quietly while working in a group. We need Engaging games, such as Mini Muffin and Jumbo Nuts, so students can work on the their strength in their hands. Bouncy Bands and Kick Bands improve trunk strength and allow students to move quietly while they work at their desks. Fidget items like Tangle Jr.'s give students a manipulative to use during whole group lessons. Binders become slant boards that give improved support during pencil and paper tasks. I am requesting all the materials listed above to help improve strength in my students hands and trunk which allow them to be active, engaging and successful learners in the classroom. These tools help make learning flexible and fun.
