Academic Potential Experience (APEX) is the name of our gifted program. Servicing students from six of the low socio- economic schools in our district, and engaging their minds to their potential is my goal. I service students from Kindergarten to the Sixth grade. These students do not have a gifted program in their school, so APEX is created to house and service gifted students once a week, for the majority of the school day. Students join me from two different schools per day. My learners arrive to the APEX center eager, motivated, and enthusiastic. They know they will be exposed to learning that is open ended and challenging. Working in a setting with their gifted peers enriches them socially and academically. The project based experiences I create for my students will be achieved with the technological tools of today. We will use our Chrome books daily to enhance our learning in every subject area, especially in the Sciences and in our critical reading skills.
