My students live in Graniteville Staten Island, an urban neighborhood where 70 percent qualify for free lunch. I have asked students to bring in their own headphones, but not all of their parents can afford them. I have purchased numerous class sets from the dollar store, but they are cheap and break after a few weeks. We are looking for a permanent solution that will allow our students to learn technology skills they can use to compete in the 21st century college and job market.
