My students live in an extreme poverty and high crime area. Many times they do not have necessary school supplies or proper clothes/uniforms for school. They enjoy coming to school every day, but are faced with many challenges before they step foot on the campus. Also, they struggle tremendously academically, and face greater hardships in the area of reading and math. My school provides intervention throughout the school week and after school tutoring to aid struggling students academically. We try to work together with parents and students to enhance the overall learning ability of all students.

About my class
