I will be starting an after school painting program for a group of our students. In addition to the important life skills that students develop through arts education, art and other forms of creativity have proven to be very therapeutic and excellent for relieving stress — something children can definitely benefit from in light of the pressures and uncertainty they deal with on a daily basis. I am hoping to foster all of this through the painting program. It will be wonderful to escape day-to-day stresses for a bit and have fun that doesn’t involve a computer/tablet or video screen. Tabletop easels, canvas panels and brushes will help facilitate the program and provide the students with the opportunity, supplies and guidance that might not ordinarily be available to them. The easels can also function in our daily classroom setting as a mode for displaying our beautiful masterpieces! Please help to turn my classroom into an art studio! Let’s get painting!
