My students hail from a low-income, rural area in West Virginia. The area is plagued with low socioeconomic statuses and my students often come from families that are broken. In fact, several don't even live with parents. All of that being said, my students are intelligent, courageous, and determined. Many of them realize that education is a way out of the poverty that they currently find themselves in. Many of them also realize that school is the only safe place they have in their lives. My students inspire me every single day to be better than I was yesterday because they need me and, I've grown to realize, I need them.

About my class
